Whats App, WordPress block newz66.com Hang Rapists online campaign

While the entire country has gone vocal about its sentiments and thoughts regarding the Delhi gang rape verdict, popular messaging and chat service Whats App and content management (CMS) and popular blogging site WordPress seem to be in no mood to support the sentiments of millions of Indians.

Last week, content website newz66.com initiated a campaign on Facebook captioned Hang Rapists to build public opinion in favor of the death penalty for the brutal crime. Newz66.com sent out several hundred messages on Facebook and other online media requesting netizens to drop by and leave their feedback. Whats App – the popular messaging service was also used. However, while Facebook’s automated systems did not flag the multiple messages and “shares” sent out, Whats App and WordPress’ servers were quick to block the SIM cards and mobile numbers used to send out the anti-rape campaign messages.

Says editor and publisher of newz66.com, Flynn Remedios, “We were using 3 Vodafone-Mumbai numbers to send out messages via Whats App to all our media contacts as network operators have a restriction of 100 sms messages within a 24 hour period. We must have hardly sent out about 150 messages, when Whats App’s servers disabled our SIM cards without any warning. Even WordPress’ automated systems flagged our blogs and blocked them instantly without any warning. While rascals spreading communal disharmony, discontent and animosity manage to escape the monitoring systems of Facebook, WordPress and Whats App – every day I see several pornographic and disturbing images cropping up on Facebook and on WordPress blogs – a social campaign for a genuine cause is blocked by these online service providers. It only demonstrates the inefficacy of their systems. We request all netizens to go to the FB page at facebook.com/pages/Hang-Rapists/159811037557361 and give us their feedback”

Salman Khan’s “friend” Yazmin Khan fumes over incorrect media coverage

New York-born and now Mumbai-based model and actress Yazmin Khan is livid. And she has every right to be so. First a prominent TV channel recently ran a news report on Bigg Boss 7 and mentioned her name as one of the probable participants, quoting reliable sources as saying that the leggy model has Salman Khan’s “aashirwaad” for the popular reality show.
Next, the news was picked up by the online media which blasted the “gossip” all over the internet. Well who doesn't love some publicity, but Yazmin Khan says, “They first spelled my name wrongly. My name is not spelled as Yasmeen Khan, its Yazmin Khan. I am Yazmin with a ‘Z’”. Another prominent portal owned by the most popular English newspaper in the world, mixed up her photographs with that of an item girl who shares a similar name. “Till yesterday, nobody talked about me. Now I am being mixed up with item girls and even transvestites,” lamented Yazmin Khan with tears in her eyes.

It has been reported earlier that Salman Khan’s “New York friend” model and Yazmin Khan is likely to be in Bigg Boss 7. According to reliable sources, Yazmin Khan who used to shuttle between New York, Mumbai and Delhi for modeling assignments has shifted base to Mumbai lock, stock and barrel with family and even purchased a flat in suburban Mumbai.
22-year-old Yazmin who harbors acting dreams and wants to one day take up acting as a serious career option is also a “good friend” of Bollywood Badshah Salman Khan. The two have occasionally been in touch on SMS and mail and it is rumored that Salman Khan probably put in a good word for Yazmin enabling her to get on India’s most popular reality show. However, as expected the channel wouldn't confirm anything.
Yazmin refused to speak to the media and said she cannot comment on media speculation or media reports. Apparently, a prominent TV channel recently ran a news report on Bigg Boss 7 and mentioned her name as one of the probable participants. “All I can say is I really wonder where you mediawallas get all this gossip from,” said Yazmin with a twinkle in her eyes.

Blind doctor receives extortion, death threats

Ayurveda expert files two complaints, caller untraceable

Noted Ayurveda expert, Dr. Samir Mansuri,  has received extortion and death threats from private numbers for over a week. The caller has threatened to kill him and his family if he does not pay him Rs. 25 lakh and more money, in due course. Mansuri has filed a police complaint at the Amboli police station on June 11 as well as another one at the Juhu police station.

Mansuri, who is also a philanthropist, has filed a case against an unknown person, since the calls have originated from private numbers. Since these numbers are not displayed on a phone, the police are finding it difficult to trace the caller.

“I have been getting these calls for over a week. The caller threatens to kill me and my family, if I do not pay him Rs 25 lakhs now and more money in the future.

He called my wife yesterday and threatened her as well,” said Mansuri who is worried about their safety. “Both of us are living in fear, as we are both blind and will not be able to handle an attack.” Mansuri’s lawyer Ahmed Khan said, “Since only VIP persons can have their caller identity restricted and the approval of the local DCP or SP is required, we suspect that the calls have originated from VIP phone numbers.”  Both the Juhu and Amboli police have confirmed that investigations are on, but claim not know the reason.

Miracles of a blind doctor

Every once in a while, one comes across a tale that warms the heart. Dr Samir Mansuri’s personal journey is one such tale. Born blind, his family saw him as a burden. Mansuri claims that when he was a child, his mother tried to drown him in a tub of boiling water and then blame it on his blindness, calling it an accident. He was saved by his uncle, but his family wished to get rid of him and thus, sent him to an NGO-run boarding school for the blind. Failing to receive family support, and still being called a curse, he left home and shifted to Hyderabad after high school. But, life was harsh to him even there.

To get by, he worked as a masseur at massage parlours and lived on railway platforms and slept under staircases. He saved money though and completed his graduation in Arts and also specialised in Ayurveda. Call it destiny or call it fluke, but a meeting with the 89-year-old Ayurvedic doctor, Shamshuddin, altered the course of his life forever. The old doctor imparted his knowledge to him and Mansuri obtained a medical practitioner’s license in Hyderabad in 1999.

Today, after a lot of research and development, he has come up with a range of eco-organic herbal beauty care products under the brand Ocean Miracle. To top it all, well-known names such as Vivek Oberoi, Subhash Ghai, Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan and other prominent businessmen and socialites consult him on beauty and alternative healing therapies. Dr Mansuri is also involved in social initiatives to support the blind and the disabled. What an inspirational life!

A blind man with a vision

Sight may be important but a vision in life is something that matters most at the end of the day, goes a saying.

There can be no better person to prove this age-old adage right than Dr Samir Mansoori, a visually impaired man who was disowned by his own family at birth but fought all the handicaps – God-given and worldly – to make his own mark in life.

Visually impaired since birth, Dr. Mansoori, who is an ayurveda and naturopathy expert, has set an example for all the differently-abled people, who consider blindness as their greatest weakness.

After finding his own way from the struggles of life, the Ayurveda practitioner has now come up with his own set of herbal beauty products; and is set to launch his own range of anti-ageing products.

Dr. Mansuri has no qualms in admitting that his very own mother tried to drown him in a tub full of boiling water, until his uncle came to his rescue.

Sent to an NGO-run boarding school by his family who wanted to get rid of him, Dr. Mansuri was blessed a vision – to make it big one day and prove that his disability was no roadblock to success.

“I always suffered ‘losses’ in life – be it emotionally, physically or financially. When my own family disowned me I understood that relationships are there only to create a balance in the world and nothing more. Life has taught me many lessons,” he tells HealthyDunia.com in an interaction that takes us across his difficult yet commendable journey in life.

With no one to rely on and no financial support, he moved to Hyderabad after completing his high school. To make ends meet and save money for his higher education he started working as a masseur during the day and slept on railway platforms during the nights.

The little money he earned from working in massage parlors helped him complete his graduation in arts, following which he went on to do a specialization in Ayurveda.

“While working as a masseur I happened to come across an 89-year-old traditional Ayurvedic doctor named Guru Shamshuddin. It is he who made me change my career,” he says.

As a masseur, Dr. Mansoori earned a loyal clientele. He then began to use his professional training as a doctor and began to practice medicine. Shamshuddin, whom he considers his guru, taught him the art and science of pulse diagnosis and the secrets of herbal connotations and cures.

“I always wanted to become a professor but became a doctor by chance. My guru has been a tremendous influence and support for me. At a time when my near and dear ones left me, he was someone who held my hand. Whatever I am today is because of him,” he says.

He assisted his teacher for about four years, tuning and honing his medicinal skills and techniques and at the same time gathering some hands-on experience.

With his by-now well-honed skills in pulse diagnosis, Dr.  Mansuri obtained a medical practitioner’s license in Hyderabad in 1999.

The Ayurveda practitioner has now come up with his own range of herbal products.

“After my degree, the idea to create herbal beauty products struck me. Our nature has in her numerous numbers of ingredients to take care of our health and beauty.

“I experimented for more than 10-years and then used the products on myself to see the effects. Once I was satisfied, I decided to launch them for the masses,” narrates Dr. Mansoori.

The range, which he calls Ocean Miracle, includes face packs, scrubs, gels and creams. Says Dr Mansoori, “My products are 100 per cent natural. There is no synthetic or chemical component at all and hence zero percent chances of any after effects or allergic reactions."

Dr. Mansoori claims that several film personalities like like Subhash Ghai, Harman Baweja and television personalities like Ekta Tiwari, Rashmi Ghosh etc. use his natural products.

The physician, who refused to let his disability come in the way of his endeavors, is enjoying life’s new found luxuries. “All of a sudden, life has become very generous to me. I am bestowed with all the good things in life. I am thankful to God for the same,” he added.

The 37-year-old doctor will soon be launching his anti-aging miracle potion in India and abroad. “After Mumbai and Surat, I will be launching the product in Dubai, Johannesburg and Nairobi,” says the proud practitioner.

According to the complaint, Dr Samir Mansuri has been receiving death threats and threats to life and property for the last three days. The calls have come from various "private numbers" or numbers whose caller id is restricted. Dr Samir Mansuri and his team of doctors had recently released a report on fake and spurious drugs on sale in India. MORE ABOUT DR SAMIR MANSURI.....

"I washed dishes in restaurants, ironed clothes for others, slept on railway platforms and even gave massages to pay for my medical education," Dr Samir Mansuri

Once in a while we come across an individual whose story of survival stirs us and makes us realize that human beings are capable of great achievement even in the face of extreme hardship. Dr Samir Mansuri's - the founder of Ocean Miracle, an eco-natural, eco-organic range of cosmetics - tale is one of the rare cases where a human being in spite of being born blind has managed to reach the zenith of success and that too in a very short time.

Early childhood

Dr Samir Mansuri was born blind as a bat. His tale of woe began as soon as he was born. His parents found him to be a great liability and wanted to get rid of him. Gifted with a very keen sense of hearing which he was conscious of since a young age, this incident changed his life. After this incident his family sent him to an NGO-run boarding school for the blind so that they could be rid of him.

Dumped and ditched by his family as a liability and a "curse" he left home and moved to Hyderabad after completing his high school education because his family considered him a "burden".

Living on railway platforms, washing dishes in restaurants, sleeping beneath stair cases in dilapidated or under construction buildings and working in massage parlours as a masseur to earn his living and save money for his higher education, Dr Samir Mansuri completed his graduation in Arts and then went on to do a specialization in Ayurveda.

A chance encounter with an 89-year-old traditional Ayurvedic doctor Guru Shamshuddin changed his career. From a dish washer and masseur - he had excelled as one and had earned a loyal clientele by then - he began to use his professional training as a doctor and began to practice medicine. Shamshuddin taught him the art and science of pulse diagnosis and the secrets of herbal connotations and cures. He assisted Dr Shamshuddin for about four years tuning and honing his skills and techniques at the same time gathering voluble and invaluable hands-on experience. With this wealth of practical and hands-on knowledge, including his by-now well-honed skills in pulse diagnosis Dr Samir Mansuri obtained a medical practitioner's license in Hyderabad in 1999 and went ahead to innovate and produce a range of eco-organic herbal beauty care products which he today promotes under his brand name Ocean Miracle.

But the path to success was not paved with silver. Even while studying medicine, it was a very hard innings. For years, Dr Samir Mansuri has had to struggle, sometimes going without food for more than 4 days at a stretch - simply because he had no money.

At times he was robbed while asleep in public places and his meager belongings and clothes stolen by vagabonds and urchins.

But Dr Samir Mansuri had great faith in the almighty. He persevered and never gave up. He fought against all hardship and overcame obstacles and hurdles with great grit and integrity.

Dr Samir Mansuri has launched several initiatives to help and support the blind in India. His "Blind Dreams Foundation" is doing yeoman work - organizing fund-raising drives and organizing equipment and material to provide self-sustaining employment to the blind and even the poor, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Dr Samir Mansoori files complaints in the State Human Rights Commission and Consumer court against SpiceJet

PRESS RELEASE

Tuesday 2nd April 2013; Mumbai: Specialist ayurvedic doctor Dr Samir Mansoori has filed complaints against SpiceJet airline in the Consumer court as well as the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission. Dr Samir Mansoori who is blind since childhood has accused SpiceJet Airlines of being insensitive to a handicapped person, besides the airline crew using vulgar, defamatory and insulting language and gestures. The written complaints were filed on Tuesday by Dr Samir Mansoori’s team of lawyers on his behalf.
Dr Mansoori has been running from pillar to post to get justice for himself for the last one month after the discourteous and insolent incident last month. Mansoori and a colleague who was travelling with him on 1st March 2013 on a SpiceJet flight from Ahmedabad to Dubai were humiliated, ill-treated and insulted by the cabin crew and staff of SpiceJet who were rude, insensitive and not at all sensitized to handling physically challenged individuals. The jet-setting Dr Samir Mansoori who holds a doctorate in Ayurveda and is a much decorated medical professional who has lectured and traveled all over the world has vowed that he will leave no stone upturned unless he gets an apology from SpiceJet. His clients include some top Bollywood stars to businessmen and politicians all over India and in other parts of the world too.
Says Dr Samir Mansoori, “It all started as soon as we boarded the fight. I was suffering from a severe headache and requested the cabin crew for a cup of tea. Unfortunately, the service was over and the cabin crew refused to oblige. What was a very minor matter escalated into a major argument with some passengers taking sides. The cabin crew was adamant and would not budge instead of being courteous and apologetic. They refused to help me doctor and instead the captain of the aircraft informed the control tower at Dubai.” When the plane landed at Dubai, the doors were not unarmed for about 30 minutes. The passengers were kept locked up in the plane till the police could arrive. The doors were only opened when the police arrived and boarded the aircraft. The doctor and a couple of passengers were hauled to the police booth at Dubai airport where they explained the situation. When the police realized that Dr Samir Mansoori was blind and not keeping well they immediately let them go, but the damage was already caused in terms of embarrassment and humiliation in front of all the other passengers on the aircraft.
Dr Samir Mansoori has written several letters to the SpiceJet management, but of no serious response has been forthcoming. Says Dr Mansoori, “Besides an automated response from a junior executive, nobody has bothered to contact me after the incident. The staff were extremely rude and made fun of my disability. They were laughing and joking among themselves and considered it some sort of a “battle” between the passenger and themselves not to forget using vulgar language and gestures.”
Since SpiceJet has not responded with a proper apology, Dr Samir Mansoori has filed a complaint with the Consumer Forum, the State Human Rights Commission and the DGCA.
